Maybe our wasn't as gorgeous as the above piece, but we loved ours just the same (clearly all that matters)!
The tape trick did't quite work. Some of the girls liked what it left behind when we took the tape off, some didn't - so they just melted again to re-cover. Overall, SUCCESS!
Halloween crafts are a must. Spooky music, too.
(Pandora has a Children's Halloween station!)
Okay - enough cuteness already! :)
Hammer & Nails aren't just for Dads...
This is one of Children's Art Studio's favorite projects. It requires very simple items - follow these instructions and try it at home! (Do not be afraid that kids can't handle these items...they are naturals, I promise. Age 5-6+)
Saturday, October 15th was full of creativity at CAS :)
Just a regular Saturday Studio Art morning class...
Plan A: Decoupage with pressed/dried leaf and flower pieces. We discovered right away that these didn't stick very well.
Plan B: The leaves that did stick well were the coffee filter leaves from our previous project. (Yeah! No waste!)
Materials: Thrift store glass (bowls, vases, plates...anything will do the trick), tissue paper, coffee filter leaves, Modge-Podge, foam brushes, hot glue, buttons, and a tea light (probably LED, so kids could keep and use in their own room).
For 5 year old kids - this was a good project, as it did challenge them in some ways. I had to do the gluing of the buttons, but they chose what and where they would embellish. Their pieces look great illuminated :)
Fall is slowly here, and as I stare out my window at work, I can't seem to help but imagine art projects. I start to create them in my head - and then I need to come back down to earth and remember --- After School Art Class is at 4PM! I've got to wait until then to start thinking about art projects! Back to work... (but I am still sooo excited)!
I just kept taking pictures! Enjoy the artistic inspiration.
Doesn't this make you want to paint?
This was a super easy project and perfect for the hour and fifteen minute art time we had.
Bring your kids tomorrow 10:45am to Children's Art Studio. They will thank you (check out those smiles!) and you get a breather.
